Room Service For Taryn

September 2nd, 2010

Today’s Room Service is for Taryn and her husband who just moved into their new home.  Taryn seems to be drawn to an updated classic look.  Here is Taryn’s letter.

Taryn sent in some pics of her lovely new space.

Since Taryn wants to surround herself with neutrals, I added warm elements with touches of brass, bronze & a splash of gold.  I also created a little more interest by mixing materials like metals, wood, leather and wool.  Starting with a clean slate of Benjamin Moore’s Berber White on the walls and the gorgeous wood floors, here is what I came up with.

To anchor the room I selected a modern sofa with sloping arms that I believe is a great combination of classic & modern.  I did select a patterned rug because it helps tie in the warmer colors.  If this is too much pattern for your liking, a plush cream rug like West Elm’s Pebble Rug would also work.  I believe the best spot for the couch because of lighting needs and traffic flow, would be up against the window wall.  I suggest a narrow, sofa table be placed out of sight behind the sofa to help with the flow of heat from the rad on that wall.  Not sure if this room would also be used for TV viewing, but I did include a layout that has 2 focal points…the fireplace & the TV.  (More on that later.)

Here’s the breakdown…

1.  JC Penney pair for $29.99   2.  CSN Stores Uttermost Amberlyn Antique Gold Mirror $217.80   3.  JC Penney Adjustable Metal Floor Lamp by studio $99   4.  West Elm Wool Curtain Panels starts @ $69   5.  Accent-Furniture-Direct Riverside Furniture Escapade Side Table $199   6.  Pottery Barn Eva Colored Glass Lamp in Amber $99   7.  Ethan AllenMontery Sofa $1699
8.  Etsy/MaDahms White Thistle Pillow $26   9.  Etsy/UtilitarianFranchise Butterfly Pillow Cover $30   10.  Urban Outfitters Metal Accordion Coffee Table $128   11.  Etsy/ClayMystique Blue Vase $25   12.  Overstock Mission Brown Leather Tufted Bench/Ottoman  $199   13.  OverstockHand Tufted Jaira Tan Wool Rug 7X10 $324.69   14.  Urban Outfitters Accordian Metal Side Table $60   15.  Macy’sChloe Velvet Metro Living Chair (on sale)$499 Seafoam color shown (comes in Ivory too)   16.  Wisteria Gold Chinese Garden Stool $129

I also did a mock up of what the fireplace wall can look like if so desired.

Here I have added a classic wood mantle in white.  This particular one is from Agee Woodworks and starts at $394.  The bookcase/console is from West Elm and the white version is on sale.  I would love to see all that dark black stone around the fireplace covered in some mosaic tile.  The tiles pictured above are Terra Milan Glass & Stone Subway Mosaic Tiles from Mosaic Tile Supplies.

In case there will be some TV watching in this room I utilized the lone corner that shares a wall with the dining room.  Here is what that wall could look like.

Since no overhead lighting currently exists in the room, I have added 2 plug-in sconces that will bring some light higher into the space.  These Loop Dark Bronze Sconces are from Lamps Plus and are $79.99 each.  If you are still lacking light in the middle of the room one trick is to hide long extensions under the rug to the opposite couch wall.  It’s not ideal but will do the trick.  If installing recessed lights is not an option, consider installing outlets in the floor in areas where you need light.  This media cabinet is the Paterson White 48″ Media Console that sells for $399 at Crate and Barrel.  The clock is an Etsy find from decoylabs and sells for $68.

To complete the room, here is a selection of more possible accessories.

1.  Etsy/utilitarianfranchise $30   2.  Home Decorators 3 Gold Leaf Convex Mirrors $139   3.  Etsy/ponyandpoppy $30   4.  Z GallerieGold Metallic Hourglass  $34.95   5.  Z Gallerie White Globes $24.95 & $29.95   6.  Brook Farm General Store  Recycled Glass Ball Vase  $25   7.  Etsy/madahms White Thistle Pillow $26   8.  Etsy/frannyandjune Pleated Pillow $26

Taryn’s room has many doorways which can make furniture placement tricky.  Here is a possible layout if TV watching is a necessity.  (If there is no TV, I would place both chairs facing the couch on the opposite end of rug.)

I want to thank you Taryn for ordering Room Service from the daily decorator.  I hope this helps you design your brand new living room!

Weekend Rerun…Saturday

June 12th, 2010

Click on image below to see daily d’s weekend rerun of another room makeover.

Our last lucky giveaway winner won a FREE Room Service design by yours truly.  Stacy was the lucky lady and she describes her style as country modern.  The bed and the dressers must stay in the room so we are giving this room a little face-lift.  Here are Stacy’s before pics.

Another great bay window!  Here is what I came up with for Stacy.

The goal was to bring in high contrast and texture to really make a statement.  1.  Keeping the curtains a simple white, helps us highlight a couple special pieces that I’ll share in the next concept board.  These panels are on sale for $19 at Pottery Barn.  2.  Floor space is at a premium in this bedroom so to keep things streamlined, I selected these chic swing arm sconces from Lamps Plus selling for  $119.98.    3 & 4    I came up with 2 wall paint options.  The 1st is a buttery yellow from Benjamin Moore called Lemonade (2024-60).  The 2nd is Violet Petal also from Benjamin Moore (1382).  The bedding I selected is close in color to the Violet Petal but also works nice with the yellow.  5.  A favorite and popular design is this sunburst mirror wall art from Z Gallerie ($139).  6.  Since we don’t need room for table lamps next to the bed, a petite size table will help make things look less cluttered.  This Alu Accent table also comes from Z Galllerie ($99).  7.  The main focal point is this beautiful, black, tufted headboard from CSN Stores sells for $275.   8.  I just love these West Elm Organiz Cotton Pin-Tuck Duvet Covers selling for $99 (Queen).  I suggest the Light Amethyst color.   9.  Another great little side table for the bed from West Elm selling for $129.  I think the white or silver both look great!  10.  To add some more bold contrast, throw this area rug on top of the wall to wall under the back 2 legs of bed.  This Hand-tufted Black Medallion Wool Rug is a great deal from Overstock selling for $152.99 (5×8).

I want to give special attention to the bay window area.  Here is a pic for inspiration on how to hang the curtains.

Sara Gilbane

Keeping this in mind, here is what I came up with for that area.

1.  Flank the windows with the simple Pottery Barn curtains & hang from clips.  2.  I would love to see the fan taken down from the center of the room and then hang this chandelier from Overstock ($118.99) in the middle of the nook.  3.  Adding color to the room & the bed are an assortment of pillows starting with this ruffle pillow from Etsy/lucillejean $13.  4.  Chandelier Pillow from Etsy/diodio $25  5.  Tucked into this nook is this Liberty Black Leather Bench from Overstock ($249).  More pillows from Etsy… 6. utilitarianfranchise ($30)  7.  mariecosycushions ($20/pair)  8.  202interiors ($40)

Let’s end with a few more touches…

1.  Frame:  Madison Belle($27)   2.  Brook Farm General Store ($48)  3.  Manzanita Wall Art West Elm ($99)

Well, I hope that helps you get started Stacy on your Room Makeover!  Congrats again for winning this great giveaway!  Speaking of which, we still have another giveaway going on!  You can still enter to win a great print of Dolan Geiman’s multi-media artwork valued at $70.  Click image below to enter.  Giveaway ends on Wednesday at 5 p.m. !

Room Service for Marti

March 30th, 2010

Today’s Room Service is for Marti in San Antonio, Texas who just needed a little help putting the finishing touches on her living/dining area.  Here is her letter.

A lot of us get stuck when we are trying to reconcile our interior design style with the architectural style of our homes.  The general rule is to live with what you love and make it work.  As long as a few elements work with the style of your home you can incorporate your own style.  Marti has a traditional home with archways however her design taste leans more towards Danish Mid Century Modern.  This style is all about geometric shapes and angles.  Mixing the two is perfectly fine.  We can downplay some of the traditional elements like not highlighting the archways to help make her more modern style take center stage.  Here are a few pics of Marti’s lovely living room now.

Gorgeous right?  Well here are some selections that I came up with to help finalize her design.

Using a combination of roman blinds and fabric curtains will help finish the look of the window wall.   To better help light control and yet stay stylish, replace current blinds with custom roman shades from Etsy-Quality Custom Designs.  Use a simple white cotton duck drapery fabric available anywhere like HERE.

1.  custom curtains Etsy-avecdieu $89/panel  (Use these to frame the windows in the living room as well as your dining area by kitchen.)
2.  Replace ceiling fan with this Triple Bubble Lamp by George Nelson Lumens  $195   3.  To de-emphasize the arches, cover fireplace arch with this large Cooper Classics Sutter Mirror CSNstores $282.80   4.  Place this hourglass stool from Urban Outfitters $78 on chaise side of couch   5.  Go bold with this olive green Avenue Six Plaza retro-style chair CSNstores $317  6. Etsy-ModDiva $19.95  7.  I love the idea of a color palette of olive greens and light blues.  A perfect, subtle color that compliments the olive green chair is this Benjamin Moore paint called Breath of Fresh Air #806  Say goodbye beige and hello blue!   8.  Replace current end table with this fab Paperclip Side Table from cb2  $199   9.  Next to your paperclip table place this Pharmacy Lamp from Crate & Barrel  $199  10.  Last but not least the Liverpool Coffee Table from Stacks & Stacks  $249 completes the modern/retro feel.

If your not keen on the olive green chair, check out another option below.  This chair has some slight curves while still relating to the style of your couch.

The stairwell wall is crying for some attention and we need to try to hide the storage door.  1.  Rhythm Tall Lamp Target  $139.99   2.  Large Urchin Ceramic Bowl Etsy-diterra   3.  Jonathan Adler Tall Bird $68  4.  Extra narrow Parsons Table with walnut top from Room & Board  $319  5.  Blue Metallic Ottomans from Overstock  $41.49 each  6.  Shades of blue and olive green is the color palette from Benjamin Moore.  A.  Liberty Park #487  and B.  Breath of Fresh Air #806 Either one would work on the walls and bring some life to the rooms.   7.  Must have a place for your drink and this sleek Stockholm Pedastal Table from Ikea is just the ticket $99
8.  Room and Board’s Cole Ottoman $350   9.  Plush velvet pillow from Urban Outfitters $32   10.  Comfy Cole Chair from Room and Board $749

Accessories are the icing on the cake!  Here is a closer look at some of the accessory options for the living area.  I couldn’t forget about your two greyhounds, so I threw a few greyhound finds for their enjoyment! :)

1.  Urban Outfitters velvet pillow $32   2.  Etsy-carlossantiago $35   3.  Etsy-RuthsCrafts Modern Print Large Green and Blue Leaves $20/pair   4.  Etsy-joom  Olive Green Flying Rectangle Pillow $34   5.  Greyhound Print Pillow Etsy-humblecollection $28   6.  Olive Green Modern Sprout Pillow Etsy-petette $27  7.  My favorite from Etsy-ModDiva $19.95   8.  Jonathan Adler Greyhound $195  9.  Greyhound Leash Hook Etsy-happyhound $14.95
10.  Urchin bowl Etsy-diterra  11.  Jonathan Adler Tall Bird $68  12.  Cube Ottoman  Overstock.com  $41.49   13.  Hourglass Stool Urban Outfitters $78

Now on to the eating area.

Since everything stays–love the retro lamps–they look great right where they are, there are just a few finishing touches I would recommend.

rsmarti-dining-area-mainF

I think if you accent the wall next to your table, it will help balance the room.  1.  You can go all out and embrace the modern feel by installing these modern wall panels by Inhabitat Living (Architect design) $86 for 10 18×18 light- weight paper panels.  Keeping with the Danish Modern look of your furnishings these Danish Teak Candlesticks are functional and stylish Mod Northwest $65.    3.  Another wall option if you want to lean more towards the traditional is a fabulous white grasscloth paper for this wall  Design Your Wall $36/yard.  4.  Bring in some of the green color with new Pebble Chenille seat cushions from Overstock $36.99/4.

The last thing that I would like to address is the lone wine fridge in the eating area.  I would love to see this get a built in look.

It wouldn’t be too hard to box it in and top with either a matching granite or a good quality wood matching the stain on your table.  Hang a wall shelf above and install wine glass storage underneath and you have your little wine bar.  No more sad little fridge all by itself.

Here is another pic for some inspiration.

Well Marti, I hope you are happy with your Room Service!  I hope this helps you put the finishing touches to your beautiful home.  Best of luck!

Room Service for Alita

February 17th, 2010

California-living Alita has asked the daily d for some Room Service.  She wants some updating for her living room area.  She has a great collection of art and sculptures that we are going to incorporate into her updated, eclectic room.  Here is her letter…

Here a some pictures of her room currently…

So we have a plan and here is what the daily d came up with…

Here’s the breakdown…

1.  candle $48  anthropologie   2.  Espresso, brown inset round mirror $199.91  lampsplus   3.  Dimond Lighting Fairview table lamp $88.20  csnlighting
4.  Ikat pillow cover $20  esty.com-ginette1223  5.  Baily French Roast Chair $249.99 overstock  6.  Leaf  pillow cover $21.95 etsy.com-moddiva  7.  Suki Floor Lamp $90 bellacor  8.  Andalusia $229 westelm  9.  Albaca Twine & Hagkal Basket $40.95  bellacor

The best thing to do to give your room a fresh start is pack everything away and start with an empty space.  Slowly put things back in and make sure each item relates to your desired final look.  When you have so many things, they all get lost amongst eachother.  It’s best to highlight your most prized things and edit your space.  I think the room probably only needs 1 floor lamp.  I would keep your black, 3-light large floor lamp and place that to the left of the fireplace.  Remove the other floor lamps and use the 2 table lamps behind your new sofa.  To help tie in the bold color of the curtains, I suggest bringing in a warmer color for the walls.  Try Benjamin Moore Harvest Time or Sherwin Williams Golden Fleece.  Test the colors and see what they look like during different times of the day.

For the fireplace wall I would tie back the curtains to either side (see drawing towards end of post).  If you need privacy, I would use a bamboo shade or fabric shade and keep the curtains away from fireplace.  Remove everything off the mantle except the one wooden bust and that can be your focal art.  The art piece that is currently above the fireplace would look great above the entertainment center.

I selected a new arm chair that mimics the lines of the sofa you have been eyeing so the blue chair can find a new home in another room perhaps. I would move all of your smaller works of art to the right corner of your window wall and hang all together like a little corner gallery.  Make sure some of your walls remain open not every space needs to be covered.  I like your display to left of your television but I would replicate that in the display to the right.  If there is another place to hold your glassware, I would pick just 1 or 2 items per shelf to give you a streamlined look.

And here are a few more choices for the room…

1.  Rings $34.95/$49.95  zgallerie  2.  Contemporary Tealight Firescreen $59.99 target  3.  Dolce Dark Walnut Sofa Table $99 target  4.  Bamboo Red Vase $34.99  overstock  5.  CD Storage Unit $299.95  pier1

I love your collection of scuptures and they are hidden right now because they are just scattered around the room.  I suggest bringing them all together in the right corner of the large window wall.  Either stagger some rustic, short, wooden shelves and display them on the wall or get thick blocks of wood of different sizes from your local home store and stain them a dark color.  You can use them as pedastals for each sculpture.  I also selected a piece of furniture for your cds where you can place some of the sculptures as well. Another space-saving & $ saving option is to remove all your cds from their covers and place them in organized cd books.

To give you an idea of furniture placement here is a quick sketch below.

I hope that helps you Alita in redesigning your lovely room!  Good luck!

Room Service For Nichole

January 29th, 2010

Nichole from the Chicago area, is back for Room Service for her living/dining room.  She received a daily d Quick Fix  not too long ago and wants a little more help to complete the look she has started. Here are some of her pictures from her Quick Fix to refresh your memory.

To jump start this room makeover I am using Nichole’s beautiful, decorative plate as inspiration.

Her furniture has a lot of curvy features so we will repeat that in some of the furniture selections and try and accent with reds, golds and white.  Here is Nichole’s Room Service for the living area…

To compliment the curves in the sofa, I am suggesting a round, sunburst, convex, decorative mirror above the couch instead of the large, rectangular mirror.  The large bay window was a concern for Nichole and flanking the sides of the window with these bi-color and simple window panels hanging a few inches above the windows should do the trick. They will also tie into the dining chairs. Of course use the same panels on the window near the table too.  Replacing some of the metal furniture with wood will help anchor the living area better.  I am also suggesting moving the secondary couch out of the living room and replacing it with 1 or 2 slipper chairs for better flow.  Here are all the details…

1.  Convex Nova Wall Art $129 westelm.com  2.  Pillows $20/pair  etsy.com-mariescosycushions  3.  Bi- Color Linen Window Panels $49.99 westelm.com 4.  Camden Coffee Table $249.99 coffeetablesgalore.com
5.  New Informality Hammered Table Lamp $149.91 lampsplus.com
6.  Camden Accent Telephone Table $219.99 coffeetablesgalore.com
7.  Double Pull Bronze Floor Lamp $169.91 lampsplus.com  8.  Handmade Ferns Taupe Rug 5′3″x8′3″ $186.99 overstock.com (*hint-to get the right size at least the front legs of your couch and the front legs of your slipper chairs should be on the rug)  9.  Slipper Bamboo Chair $229.99 overstock.com 10.  Iridescent Bronze Sienna Pillow $19  etsy.com-pillowthrowdecor

Now for the dining area.  This is a compact space so I recommended that Nichole’s corner accent table be removed.  This allows the dining table to slide in closer to the corner.  To make it a little more intimate, I am suggesting that the fan be replaced with a chandelier.  The one I picked comes with a swag so that it can be hung easily over the middle of the new location of the table.  It also has that nice, coppery color that we are pulling from our inspiration piece.  I also included many possible accessories to give you some ideas.  They don’t all need to be used.

Here is the breakdown…

1.  Iron and Beige 4 Light Chandelier $99.99 overstock.com  2.  Hotel Noir Clock 18 1/2″ $59.99 target.com  3.  Framed Wrought Iron Wall Art  etsy.com-dipdesigns  4.  Italian Glass Vase $45 pier1.com  5.  Red Borneo Tree Placemat etsy.com-kainkain  6.  White Ceramic Candle Holders $28  etsy.com-fineartstoneware  7.  Pure White Vases from$7-$71 westelm.com  8.  Dandelion Plate Set $32 etsy.com-soule  9.  36″ Flat Mocha Wood Shelves $34.99 (buy 2-3) target.com

So there you have it! Nichole, I really hope this helps you finish making your house a home!

Room Service #2 for Carrie

November 10th, 2009

Not too long ago Carrie ordered Room Service for her bedroom. Remember this?

Click HERE to see her bedroom Room Service.

Well, her living room is also in need of a little help.  The beige factor is bringing her room into an eternal state of blahness.  She just needed help bringing a little life into the room.  The furniture stays so we are just going to bring it up a notch.  Take a look at her pictures.

I love the zig zag rug and we are going to use that as a starting point.  We can use the brown to add some boldness and balance to the rest of the room.  Bringing in the brown with accessories and some anchor pieces of furniture plus adding a subtle splash of color on the walls should bring this room from dull to divine!  Here is Carrie’s Room Service…

Starting with a new paint color on the walls.  I have selected Buxton Blue (HC-149) in an eggshell finish from Benjamin Moore.  1.  I usually don’t pick art work for Room Service because that should be a personal selection however, this print called Teal Bubble Flowers from art.com ($99-framed) works perfectly for this design.  2.  target.com Brushed Metal Clock  in Espresso $19.99  3.  jcpenney.com Miyoko Embroidered Faux Silk by Studio $24.99-$29.99  4.  csnmirrors.com Cooper Classics 473 Vista Mirror $232  5.  lampsplus.comCoffee Brown Ceramic Lamps $89.91
6.  etsy.com (seller: dianekappa) $28  7.  etsy.com(seller: designedbyannabelle) $40  8.  accent-furniture-direct.com Butler Metalworks Round Leather Rim Table (BTL 1723) $232  9.  overstock.com Espresso Birch Entry Table (29″Hx30″W) $139.99 *This large table will help fill in the corner between the couch and loveseat.  10.  homedecorators.com Savoy Bar Height Chair $129  11.  etsy.com (seller: mariecosycushions) 2 black, brown, grey holly print pillow $30  12.  westelm.comWoven Vases $29.99-$39.99 (zig zag rug belongs to homeowner but similar rug sold at westelm.com).

Hopefully, this Room Service will help Carrie get rid of the blahs forever!

Room Service for Deborah

November 3rd, 2009

Today’s Room Service is for Deborah and her husband in NYC.  Their master bedroom is part sleeping quarters and part home office and needs to be more sophisticated for this young couple.  Here is Deborah’s letter…

And here here are her pictures…

I have certainly tried my best to make all of Deborah’s wishes come true.  I think the main problem is that the office space is not bringing Deborah any peace.  Aside from partitioning the room, there are some other options.  My main goal is to make the “office space” more streamlined and actually nicer to look at since it is right there.

First, let’s discuss the sleeping section.  Deborah made her upholstered headboard and it actually fits in with the new sophisticated look so we are keeping that.  We love diy!  The main change will be creating a large frame with molding right onto the wall behind the bed and nightstands.  Within the frame, I would like it painted a nice blue.  I selected 2 options.  The rest of the walls can be a crisp white.  I would place the frame up about 7 feet and wide enough to include both nightstands.  To add a little more design, get 1 quart in eggshell and 1 quart in gloss.  Create large horizontal stripes with each finish creating a subtle striped wall.  Each stripe could be 7 inches from top to bottom.  Here is a photo for inspiration that did a similar framed look using fabric.

apartment therapy

And now to the sleeping quarter’s concept board…

1.  lampsplus.com Robert Abbey Wonton Collection Silver Swing Arm Plug-In Lights w/dimmer $159.99  2.  comcore21.com  Mirrored Nightstand $335.22  3.  bellacor.com  Baina Accent Pedestal Table $272.80
4.  Benjamin Moore(request Natura-No VOCs) Tidal Wave  5.  Benjamin Moore Northern Air  6.  brocadehome.com  Silver Damask Duvet Q-$149 K-$179  7.  westelm.com Pebble Rug $279 (5×8)

Place each swing-arm lamp on either side of headboard high enough to give good light while reading.  These are great because they plug in to a normal outlet.  No electrician necessary.  Plus they free up space on each table!  To bring up the level of sophistication, I selected the mirrored nightstand and silver/mirror pedestal table.  I also gave 2 suggestions for paint.  Either one would work with the color scheme.  You could choose to use the Northern Air instead of the white on most of the walls.  It’s up to you.  The duvet comes in a few different colors but I love this silver and white!  Keeping it streamlined, I selected a super comfortable but simple rug.

Now to bring in some color here are my pillow picks.

All are from etsy.com.  Here is the seller information to help you locate them.  1.  dwellinstyle $18  2.  hettle $36 (modern heather grey ruched pillow)  3 & 4. colorandscheme $19.50 each  5.  diodio $30  6.  theshabbynest $30

Now for the home office.  As I mentioned, making this space more streamlined should help it blend in better with the rest of the room.  I selected an extra long desk that could accommodate 2 desk chairs.  Putting this up against the window wall will help diminish the cluttered look.  Here is the concept board for the worker bees…

Using the homeowners’ Restoration Hardware Lamp bases, a new shade brings them back to life.  1.  lampsplus.com  Embossed Black Floral Pattern Drum Shade $39.98 each  Having a place for all the papers to hide is essential.  2.  Here is a cute selection from gracioushome.com
3.  westelm.com Docking Station $39  4.  etsy.com(seller:  steeldreamdesigns) Fabric Covered Magnetic Board $30  5.  cb2.com  Hyde Wall Mounted Cabinet $199  6.  overstock.com White Writing Desk $259.99 (31H x 59.7 W x 29.8D) 7.  Matching the husband’s current desk chair is one for the lady from pbteen.com $199  8.  etsy.com (seller: jennnsmith) Fabric Covered Bulletin Board $30  9.  homedecorators.com  Oxford 2 Drawer File Cabinet  $129

Next the wall where the antique dresser resides.  Here I kept it simple with a place for storage, a mirror to do an outfit-check , a little more lighting and a few accessories.

1.  lampsplus.com  Contempo Chrome Finish Floor Lamp $89.91
2.  lampsplus.com Canterbury Place Wall Mirror $149.99 (33 x 23.5)
3.  jcpenney.com Upholstered Storage Bench $119 (place against the wall next to dresser)  4.  inmod.comWalter Retro Wooden (paint yourself) Starburst Decoration $142  5.  pier1.com Silver Apothecary Jars $25 each
6.  crateandbarrel.com (outlet) Blue Luster Vase $24.99
7.  crateandbarrel.com (outlet) Lucy Vase $5.95

Wait…we are still not done.  Here are a few more options…

We must address the windows.  Keeping it streamlined, roman shades are a must.  Your best option for this is to have them custom made.  Contact Mandy at Quality Custom Designs at etsy.  You can provide the fabric, she can add the black-out lining and you are good to go!  I love this black print fabric from onlinefabricstore.net $10.70/yard called Waverly Lovely Lattice Caviar.  You could select something simple like the Covington Pebbletex White Fabric for $6.30/yard from the same store.  A gray fabric would also work.  I also selected a back-up nightstand in case the mirrored cabinet is not to your liking.  This one is from crateandbarrel.com outlet True Nightstand $119.

Now even though the office area will look 100 times better, if you still desire to block some of the view while you are in bed, check out the Anno Ljov Fabric Panels from ikea.comthat hang flat and can be installed from the ceiling.  (cement drill bit pre-requisite for cement ceiling).  Another option is make your own fabric panel.  Match the fabric that you use on the windows and install a swing-arm curtain rod on the wall.  Attach the fabric panel with clips to the rod and swing toward the bed when you want to block the space.  The last option, although quite dramatic, would certainly do the trick.  Also from ikea, you could hang sheer white curtains from a wire cable that could go from one side of the room to the other.

If you ever want to replace the closet doors, think about frosted glass-paneled sliding doors that are now available at the big box stores.  If the husband definitely prefers a separate desk from you, keep it as streamlined as possible and think about using 2 white parsons desks side by side against the window wall (available at westelm.com).

I hope this give you plenty of ideas Deborah and please keep us posted on your progress!

Room Service For Teresa & Tony

October 29th, 2009

Today’s Room Service is for Teresa and Tony from Atlanta, Georgia here is their letter…

And here are their before pics…(Update:  They now have new wood floors and have painted their walls with Sherwin Williams Rice Grain.)

What a huge space!  Sometimes when you have that much open space decorating it becomes a little difficult.  There are a few main things that I would love to address.  First, we need to create a sitting area that is more intimate.  I would also like to create a corner for the little guy (their 2 year old).  Since there is a fireplace, we need to make that more of a focal point in the seating area (along with the T.V.  for Tony :)   ).

Now take a deep breath Tony, I’m going to ask that you move the T.V. to the wall under the kitchen pass through.  This may require moving cables but I promise it will be worth it.  This frees up the only real usable wall for the seating area allowing you to use table lamps so that you are not relying solely on the track lighting for light.  I would place the large couch against the old T.V. wall with a narrow sofa table behind it.  I didn’t select a sofa table because it will mainly be hidden but if you could find one the same length as the couch that would work.  (It’s also a great place to stash larger toys away from view).

Next, the vertical blinds must go!  Not only for aesthetics but, you will be happy that the little guy won’t be yanking on them anymore.  Treat the doorway like a window and have curtain panels on either side.  Hang the curtain rods so that there is room to move the panels out of the way when needed.

Last, I would consider painting the brick on the fireplace a soft white.  It will do wonders for brightening up the room.  If that is too drastic for you, maybe just paint the wood mantle a soft white to make it look fresh.

Here is a possible layout.  It’s not to scale but should give you some other ideas of how to make this room work.  The location of the large chair can be switched around to see what works best.

And finally, here are my suggestions for the design of the room.  Remember, I am giving you a full new look that works with your current couch & chair.  Select pieces that work with your budget at the moment and keep others in mind for the future.

1.  homedecorators.com $239  2.  lampsplus.com Bronze Finished Sculptured Tree Lamp $99.95  3.  westelm.comMedallion Curtains $44-$59  4.  lampsplus.com Antique Black & Bronze Scalloped Mirror $129.95  5.  lampsplus.com Rattan Column w/Night Light feature $79.95 each
6.  walmart.com Upholstered Bench $169.77  7.  target.com Hapao Weave Tray $39.99  8.  furniturebutler.com Bernard Shan Overpark Bayside Olive Table $103.97  9.  rugstudio.com Safavieh Chelsea HK142A on clearance for $251 (old price $487) 5′3″ X 8′3″

A closer look at the new seating area…

With high ceilings think vertically when hanging art.  The above is to show you how nicely the couch would work on the old T.V. wall.  Brighten up the brown in the room (couch & chair) with shades of blue and green for a fresh look.  The lamps on the sofa table have a base with a built in “night-light” for ambiance.  1.  walmart.com Timeworks 18″ Wall Bond Street Clock  2.  overstock.com Anna Sage Accent Chair $189.99  3.  wisteria.com Blue Chinese Garden Stool  $129.

This room also includes a dining room.  Here are my suggestions for that area…

I would keep the dining area simple.  These cute chairs are comfortable and affordable.  Use the shelves to display colorful plates, teapots, candles etc.  Whether you purchase a new light or keep your existing chandelier, hang it closer to the the table for a more intimate feel.  I like to see the light hanging approximately 34 inches from the tabletop.
1. lampsplus.com Millenium Collection Teco Marron 3 Light Pendant $269.99 2. overstock.com Maxwell 2 chairs for $224.99
3. crateandbarrel.com Kipling Pedestal Extention Table $699.99 & shelves from westelm.com $24.99-$34.99

And now for some accessorizing.  These are just suggestions but, it is great to personalize your space with family photos or items that appeal to you.

Room Service for Carrie

October 22nd, 2009

Today’s Room Service is for Carrie in South Carolina who is ready to get rid of the neutrals in her master bedroom.  Here is her letter.

And here are a few pics.  Although Carrie is leaning towards modern, her furniture selection is quite traditional so we are blending both to create a fabulous room.

I have 3 ideas for getting rid of the blahs.  First add color to the walls, second, introduce lots of patterns and finally create lots of contrast which I did using black and white.  Here is Carrie’s main concept board.

The main attraction in this room is going to be the wallpaper (source)!  I suggest just using it on the bed wall to create a focal wall.  The other great idea is to loose the table lamps and hang plug-in pendants.  Lots of drama plus you have more room for your books etc. on the tables.  I also like mixing up pieces of furniture.  The white round end table and the white butler tray are a great contrast to the dark cherry wood furniture.  Place the round table next to the chair and the butler table on the other side.  Add a colorful pillow onto the chair to brighten up the beige.  It’s all tied together with the upholstered storage bench at the foot of the bed.  The rug is pretty large.  I would tuck a few feet under the bed (at the end of the bed) so you can really show off the pattern toward the center of the room.  Here is the breakdown for this concept board.

1.  lampsplus.com Swag Black Tapestry $129.99  2.  lampsplus.com  Fretwork  Black Mirror $199.99  3.  jcpenney.com Luke Grommet $24.99-$29.99  4.  zgallerie.com Sophia Q-$169.95 K-$189.95  5.  etsy.com(seller: notjustknits) $42  6.  etsy.com  (seller:  petette) $22  7.  etsy.com (seller: nenavon $25)  8.  westelm.com Butler Tray Table $208
9.  homedecorators.com  Round White End Table w/Drawer $179
10.  walmart.com $169.99  11.  lampsplus.com Emblem Beige and Black Rug $219.91 (7′9″ x 10′6″)

The 2nd concept board addresses the office area as well as some accessories for the room.

If you must have a desk in the master bedroom, then dress it up with a non-office looking chair and some great accessories to help it blend better in the room.  Here is the breakdown…

1.  decoruniverse.com Trend Heirloom Picture Frames (2) $25.52
2.  zgallerie.com Lucerne Sconce $14.99 each (I would place these on the wall next to closet door above reading chair)  3.  This bulletin board is from pulpproducts.com but you can make your own.  I would bring in extra piece of the matching wallpaper as the background.  4.  Benjamin Moore Paint (match of Ralph Lauren SF07D Flowering Cactus) Paint all walls this color except focal wallpaper wall.  You can also bring a sample of the wallpaper or even the curtains to the paint store and have them make a custom match.
5.  target.com Parson’s Chair $269.99 for 2  6.  lampsplus.com Black Scroll Steel Base Drum Shade Lamp (for desk) $59.95
7.  decoruniverse.com Chass Table Clock $69.99  8.  decoruniverse.com  Firefly Epic Vase

Thanks Carrie for contacting the daily decorator for help!  I hope this gives you some inspiration to get rid of the neutrals and bring a little more life to your room!

Room Service For Kara

October 8th, 2009

Today’s Room Service is for Kara from Minneapolis, MN!  She has an empty sunroom that needs some love.  Here is her letter.

And here are a couple shots of her sunroom.

Decorating a sunroom can seem daunting, especially trying to work with walls of windows.  In this case, I’ve decided to soften the windows with curtains.  It would be very costly to buy ready made curtains for all of those windows so I have chosen to drape them in canvas material.  More to come on that.  I think the biggest difference will be to cover the wood tones on the walls with paint.  There are two good options for this design.  Either cover the walls in a nice green color to mimic the landscape outside or go for light and bright and cover the walls in a soft white (eggshell finish).  All the window & door trim should be painted white.  This will give you a crisp and clean look.  Ideally, wood floors would look great (possibly flowing from the kitchen)  in the meantime, I’ve selected two rugs to break up that tiled floor.  I also gave Kara a look with neutral color furniture.  If Kara decides to use her red couch the only thing I would change is the color of the rug.  Go with a sage green instead of the brown.   Since this is such a good sized room I broke the room up into 2 sections.  This area will be used to entertain friends, watch tv, enjoy the view and read.  Here is the breakdown…

1.  Robert Abbey Real Simple Boom Floor Lamp (Lampsplus.com $204.91)  2.  Woven Banana Leaf Chair (amazon.com $396)  3.  Urban Oasis 3 Light Chandelier (Lampsplus.com $299.99)  4.  Moonlight Wall Mirror (Lampsplus.com $169.99)  5.  Canvas Material for Curtains (chicagocanvas.com)  6.  Possini Euro Design Bronze Floating Squares (Lampsplus $99.99)  7.  Unique Wood Bookcase Display Unit (overstock.com $275.99)  8.  Banana Leaf Trunk (target.com $49.99)  Use at least 2 trunks in place of coffee table.  9.  Vegas Sofa (raymourflanigan.com $499)  10.  Geometric Chocolate Brown Antique Rug (target.com $299.99)  11.  Green Squares Pillow (etsy.com seller-milkandcookiesCanada $20)  12.  Green Bird Pillow (etsy.com seller-joon $16)  Wall paint:  Benjamin Moore (match of Dutch Boy Etna Green) (trim any semi-gloss soft white)

Since there are so many windows, think outside of the box and decorate on top of the windows.  Below is what I had in mind for the mirror.  Hang it right on top of a curtain.  The curtain will also act a a back drop to your tv so you don’t see the back of the equipment from outside. I would frame 3 windows with curtains at at time. You do not need to hang a pair of curtains for each and every window.

Chicago Canvas can make simple curtains out of canvas with your dimensions.  I suggest either grommet holes, or hang curtains by clips using a cable wire system.  For instructions click on this link from apartment therapy.

Now since this sunroom is right off the kitchen, Kara wanted a dining area.  Here is what I came up with…

Here is a new look at sunroom dining furniture.  It certainly is not your grandma’s wicker.  Here is the breakdown…

1.  Rectangular Wall Votiv Holder (amazon.com $105)  2.  Kathy Ireland Pacific Gateway Plug-In Pendant (Lampsplus.com $224.91)  3.  Homelegance 54″ Round Glass Table (morehome.com $311.85)  4.  Sage Harwick Sideboard (homedecorators.com $399)  5.  Hand Woven Braided Jute 6′ (overstock.com $99)  6.  Woven Dining Chair (crateandbarrel.com $139)

To give you an idea on a possible layout.  Here is a not-to-scale drawing.

Now for some of the final touches…

1.  Birch Vases (etsy.com seller-nhwoodcreations $37.50)  2.  Crazy Weave Recycled Metal End Table/Stool (lampsplus.com $229.91)  3.  Lack TV Stand (ikea.com $49.99)  4.  Leaf Platter (etsy.com seller-asriarts $45) 5.  Can’t forget about the dog…Eco-Friendly Dog Pillow in Sage (allmodern.com $81.99)  6.  Roll of Canvas Material for Curtains (chicagocanvas.com)

There you have it, a sunroom that will put all other sunrooms to shame!  I hope this helps give you some inspiration to start decorating!

Enjoy!

Room Service for Jennifer

September 30th, 2009

Below is a letter from a new mother who needs a little help making her space cheerful.

Your Room Service has been delivered Jennifer!  Here is a look at Jennifer’s living room and dining room in their current state.

These rooms have lovely details!  Great floors, nice molding, french doors–lots to love, but I do see where the decor is bringing it down.  So here is what I came up with.  A cheerful color palette of yellows, grays and sage.  First, Jennifer’s living room.

Room Service for Jennifer

I know Jennifer is partial to her cream colored paint, but I would love to see a sage on the walls (at the very least on the fireplace focal wall).  The contrast will really make the molding pop in the room.  When you have cream walls and white molding,  all the beautiful molding is hard to see.  I also noticed that there is a door propped open behind the end table.  If this is a permanent position for the door, I would go ahead and take it off the hinges and out of the room.  This will give you the illusion of a little more space.  I actually love the ottoman so please keep that in your design.  You will appreciate it when the baby begins to start walking around.  Placing a tray on top of the ottoman will allow you to place drinks etc. down easily.  Now for the design.  Since it is a small room and there are many doorways I chose to keep the furniture placement the same.  Here is a breakdown of this concept board.

1st pillow in top, left corner etsy.com(seller: pillowmio $20), bird pillow etsy.com (seller: joom $28), new sconces from wallsconceuniverse.com (Murray Feiss Casual Luxury Wall Sconce $139), matte black finish round mirror for above fireplace from lampsplus.com ($99), Canyon Twill Sleeper Sofa from amazon.com ($719.99), gray pillows from etsy.com (mariescosycushions $20 for 2), Leick Favorite Finds Round Fluted End Tables from accent-furniture-direct.com ($99), Spindle Gloss Black lamp and floor lamp from lampsplus.com($79.99 & $199.99), Jill Rosenwald Fallon Yellow Rug from csnstores.com ($295 for 5X8), Polly Upholstered Chair in Dove from Target.com ($299), Benjamin Moore paint match to Sears Ash Grove.  To bring in more light I would remove the current window shutters and replace them with the roman shades shown in the next concept board.

Since the rooms are connected, the color scheme should tie into the dining room.  Jennifer wanted to keep her pine dining table and buffet, so I brought in soft parson chairs to bring the gray in this room.  Here is the concept board for the dining room.

Room Service for Jennifer/Dining Room

I think replacing the chairs and adding a new wall color to the upper walls will give this room a whole new look.  There is a mix of styles which keeps it interesting and far from boring.  Here is the breakdown…

Cream Jute Roman Shades from overstock.com ($mid 30-s depending on size).  Bringing in a more stream-lined look is this updated pendant chandelier from wallsconceuniverse.com (Murray Feiss Casual Luxury Pendant $139.02–matches the wall sconces in living room).  For the wall facing the living room this mirror set will help reflect some more light into the room (potterybarn.com $129).  Removing the bulky chairs and replacing them with these elegant Ice Linen Parson Chairs from homedecorators.com ($159) will be a great contrast to the pine table.  I also selected a beautiful black table runner with an embroidered leaf design from etsy.com(seller: kainkain $24) and a large glass hurricane from westelm.com ($39) helps dress up the table.  The last piece is the storage bench from homedecorators.com (Bosworth $249)  for the wall under the windows.  I wanted to select something that can be tucked away and not block the windows and that could provide extra storage.  It is in the same color family as the buffet, so it helps tie things together.

Well there you have it Jennifer.  I hope that cheered you up a bit!  Have fun with your project and enjoy your time with the new baby!

Check Back Tomorrow!

Room Service For Mary

September 22nd, 2009

I received an e-mail from Mary from just outside of Chicago who didn’t need a full-blown makeover but just needed a little update.  So instead of a complete overhaul I gave her some items from the daily decorator a la carte menu!  I even gave her two different looks that she could get inspiration from.  First, here is her note…

And here are a few of her pictures…

As you can tell, Mary already has an eye for great design!  I love the fireplace mantle/headboard and I love her collection of plates too!  I can see that she likes the black and white theme so in the 1st option, I am giving her a whole new look with black and white.

All furniture is staying so for a new look, I would paint them in a high gloss white.  To add a little glam, replace knobs with clear, glass knobs.  I selected new shades for the bedside tables.  The current ones look a little too small.  I’m not sure of the base size so double check to make sure the shade is in the right proportion to the base.

The current blue wall color is out replaced with a very subtle lilac paint paired with grasscloth wallpaper.  A light gray grasscloth wallpaper on the lower 36 – 40 inches of the walls will be separated with a chair rail.  All the upper walls will be painted the beautiful lilac.  I chose lilac because it is complimentary to your colors in your plate collection as well as your mother’s treasured lamp.  In place of the T.V.  stand, I thought a cute chair would look great.  Hang the black mirror above the chair and you avoid a neglected corner space without being too bulky.  I would like to keep the plates in the room but, separate them into 2 groups one on either side of the bed.  Since the new T.V. will be on the main dresser we can’t have any distractions on the wall behind it.  I would also suggest taking out the “crown molding” above that dresser.  It seems lost up there by itself.   Since the dramatic and gorgeous chandelier is coming in the room (above the bed I hope), I would also move the large clock out of the room.  It would just compete with the chandelier.

Since Mary can sew and we need extra long curtains to cover the palladium windows, I chose drapery fabric instead of ready made.  Hang a panel on either side of each window with the rod extended so that you can pull the curtains apart and see the entire window.  Have them just touch the floor–no puddles of fabric please.

Here is the breakdown.

1.  Duvet Cover Mosaic Single Ply from smartbargains.com $35  2.  etsy.com (seller: mariecosycushions) $20  3.  amazon.com (furnitureontheweb)$50  4.  black and white floral print shade lampsplus.com $29.99  5.  sheets linensource.com   6.  paint Benjamin MooreFrench Lilac 1403  7.  grasscloth wallpaper AJ018 designyourwall.com  8.  Imperial Periwinkle Drapery Fabric factorydirectdrapes.com  9.  target.com $79.99  10.  Bianca Black and White Printed Tufted Chair  amazon.com $299.99  11.  mercury glass hurricane candles holders mothology.com $62

And for option #2, I decided to go with the color palette of gray, silver and teal.

Just in case your not a lavender person, here is another great look for your room the color of teal.  Mixed with silver and gray it creates a sophisticated look and still ties in with all your great items.  I would still like to break up the wall with a wallpaper on the lower section and a soft barely teal color on the upper walls.  This will help make the room a little cozier since you have those cathedral ceilings.  I also included a pic of a painted white dresser to give you an idea of how your furniture will look once painted.  Switch out the knobs with beautiful glass knobs and you are set.  I also have another diy idea mentioned below if you dare.  There is a big price difference with this duvet compared to the last option but it sure is a luxurious look.   Here is the breakdown…

1.  Silk Spectra Frost Drapery fabric factorydirectdrapes.com  2.  wrinkle-resistant teal sheets amazon.com $39.99  3.  White Splash on Gray Opaque Giclee lampshade lampsplus.com $59.99  4.  etsy.com (seller: mariecosycushions) $20  5.  etsy.com (seller: dwellinstyle) $23  6.  Hotel Collection Rings amazon.com $249  7.  target.com $79.99  8.  Graham Chair homedecorators.com $369.99  9.  etsy.com (seller:  mariecosycushions) $30  10.  finials gracioushome.com $55  11.  Benjamin Moore Harbor Fog 2026  12.  Darcy Teal Circular Geometric Wallpaper designyourwall.com

If you are up for a little diy, here is a great idea to add some glam to your dresser from apartment therapy.

from apartment therapy

You could add antique-looking mirror panels on the drawer fronts for a complete transformation.  Click HERE for the instructions.

Well I hope that gives you a little inspiration to start your new update!  Good luck Mary!  Let us know what you think and would love to see your after pics!

Room Service for Joanne

September 15th, 2009

Joanne from the Boston area contacted the daily decorator for some help designing her upstairs family room.

Here is her letter…

Having Cape Cod ceilings can seem daunting, but when done right you end up with a room full of charm.  Here are some of the pics that Joanne sent.

First things first, this room needs some paint.  Joanne mentioned that she preferred neutrals and I am going to push her a little and show her an unexpected neutral palette.  A gray, silvery blue paired with a tan.

Definitely test the colors first.  They sometimes come out a lot different than the paint chips.  The tan color can go on the airconditoner window wall and the doorway wall.  I  also think it would look good on the small wall surrounding the window inbetween the dormers.  (You will see what I mean later.)  The blue is for the knee walls and the slanting ceiling.  By keeping them the same color it will de-emphasize where the ceiling actually begins.  I would also just paint the inside sections of the dormer window that same blue gray.  Believe it or not, this blue gray can be considered in the neutral family and it prevents the room from looking too bland.

Here is a sneak peek of the 1st wall that you see when you walk in the room.

Since this is such a large room, I created a few different zones in the room.  On the left is a table that can be used for playing board games or having a snack.  On the right is a comfortable chair for reading or watching tv.

With this nice silvery blue the only real color in the room, I brought in a lot of textures.  A new ceiling fan with rattan blades, a rattan pendant light over game table and the bamboo roman shades.  Joanne wanted to avoid busy patterns so my solution to add a little interest is to use wall graphics on the tan walls.  They are easily removable and she can use it as a decorative element in the room.

Here is the breakdown of this section of the family room starting with the game zone.

The table and the set of chairs are from overstock.com.  Maddox Espresso Round Table for $259.99 and the Modern Accent Chairs for $130.99/pair.  I chose this great Swag Style Woven Wicker Giclee Shade Plug-In Pendant from LampsPlus.com for $129.99.  This way you can still have overhead lighting even though the ceiling is the roof line.

Now for the Reading Zone…

This chair will be to the left of the couch so it can be used for tv watching as well.  1.  Sitcom Furniture Cameo Lounge Chair for $379.99 from accent-direct-furniture.com.  2.  With this “attic” type space, a fan is essential.  This Casa Optima Matte Black and Honey Rattan Blade fan sells for $239.95 from LampsPlus.com.  3.  The Neat Pleat Swing Arm Lamp is also a LampsPlus.com find and sells for $99.  4.  Bringing in some circular shapes to help balance off the hard angles of the roof-line, I selected the London 3 Tier Oval End Table from accent-furniture-direct.com.  Sticking with the neutrals, you can select a wall-to-wall carpet similar to this Loop-Style Rug in magnolia from Home Depot.

Moving on to the large window wall.

Starting with the bamboo shades from Overstock.com prices starting at $22.99 depending on the width of your windows.  This set is called Montego Bay but any warm-colored bamboo roman shades will do.  Hang the shades and the curtain actually above the window as high as you can go with the very bottom of the curtains just touching the floor.  This will make the widows appear larger.  The Corbin Thermal curtains from JCPenney.comsell for $29.99 and will keep the heat out in the summer and the cold out in the cold Massachusetts’s winters.  I would hang the curtains from clip rings ($14.99) attached to the Studio Rod in Black ($24.99) all from JCPenney.com.

As an additional accent to this wall, I suggest wall stickers.  It is a great alternative to wallpaper or stencils.  For your accessories, I selected items that have a tree, branch or leaf theme.  These stencils come in an array of colors.  I think white on top of the tan would be nice & subtle and not too busy.  Put the stickers on all the tan walls in the room to keep a cohesive look.  The wall sticker pictured below is from etsy.com priced at $35 for 8 10 inch stickers and the seller is tweetheartwallart.  (Remember it comes in white.)

Now we are ready for the tv lounging zone…

1.  This sectional provides great comfort without being too big and should be o.k. coming up your new stairs.  It is the Anthony Sectional from overstock.com and sells for $629.  Ideally, if you pulled it away from the wall a little and installed a heavy-duty shelf the length of the couch and the same height as the couch you could create your own “sofa table” and have a place for accessories since you can’t decorate the pitched wall.  2.  This Wenge Round Coffee Table is also from overstock.com and is priced at $169.99 and fits snugly in with the sectional.  3.  This Neat Pleat Floor Lamp matches the reading lamp from LampsPlus.com and sells for $129.95.  Finally, #4 a nice home for the tv which can go in the corner to the right of the doorway.  This Omni Mount TV Stand in espresso is $149.99 from HomeDepot.com

Below I had to take advantage of a little nook created between the two dormers.  This is a great spot to create a window seat.  You can easily have one made or try to find a ready-made storage bench that will fit the dimensions of the space.  (I do suggest not to have a back on it so that the heat can still enter the room.)  With a cushion to fit the top and a slew of pillows, you can have a comfy retreat for reading.

Use the same bamboo blinds on this set of windows that you used on the other wall.  The two Dome Dark Bronze swing arm reading lights are from shopwalllighting.com and they sell for $84.91each.  I just selected this storage bench so that you could see how one could fit.  If you want to purchase a ready-made seat, look for either an espresso finish or white with storage baskets.  If you need a cushion for the top, you can have a custom cushion easily made from cushionsource.com.  You could get one in Tuscan Swift Blue, in a boxed-style, with a foam insert for about $112 depending on your dimensions.  The mini woven tray with the Medina stand comes from westelm.com and sells for $139.  All the pillows are from etsy.com and are found in the accessories section below.

1.  vase from weegohome.com ($55) 2.  etsy.com (rosiepillows $25) 3.  etsy.com (ceramicpix $22)  4.  etsy.com (ecodivadesigns $28)  5.  etsy.com (ourgreenroom $26)  6.  etsy.com (ruthscrafts $12)  7.  etsy.com (diningout $20)  8.  target.com $19.99

Well, I hope your Room Service was to your liking Joanne!  Good luck in creating a fabulous room!
